Kevin
Carr is a fiddler, piper and storyteller in the old tradition. He invites
audiences into a world slightly apart from our everyday lives - a world of
timeless folk melodies, of songs and tales culled from the collective
imagination and polished over the years till they reflect the deeper truths and
delights of life. His repertoire reflects a love of the vast stream of Irish,
Scottish and American folklore and music, and he's journeyed some up the
tributaries of Quebecois, Galician and French dancemusic as well. Kevin's solo performances include pure
storytelling for all ages, Kevin has guested on dozens of recordings by
artists as diverse as Patrick Ball, Laurie Lewis, Robin Flower and Libby
McClaren, Carol McComb, and Tony Furtado, and has recorded "Airs Tordus"
as a member of Les Tetes de Violon, the eponymous "Hillbillies from
Mars" , and "Wake the Dead" and "Buckdancer's Choice"
with Wake the Dead. He has a solo storytelling CD out called "The Big
Music". Kevin lives on a very small farm in Ashland,
